upGrad School of Technology has announced scholarships of up to 100% for students enrolling in its four-year B.Tech Computer Science programmes offered by partner universities and supported by upGrad School of Technology, effective for the upcoming uGNET admission cycle on May 10 , 2026.

The initiative responds to a growing challenge in Indian technical education: while AI and automation redefine global industries, traditional curricula often struggle to keep pace. Consequently, students frequently graduate with skills that are misaligned with the rapidly shifting demands of the tech workforce. upGrad School of Technology was established to support partner universities by enabling access to industry-aligned learning frameworks and learner support services designed to complement university-led academic delivery and addresses this gap by supporting undergraduate programmes offered by partner universities that combine academic rigour with hands-on learning and industry exposure, with a focus on aligning with evolving industry and technology trends..

The scholarship pool is designed to reward merit, encourage diversity, and support economic need and includes the following categories:

  • Merit-Based Scholarship: Awarded based on uGNET scores, academic performance, and relevant competitive exam results.
  • Ronnie Screwvala Scholarship: Awarded to select candidates demonstrating strong performance in hackathons and extracurricular achievements, subject to defined criteria.
  • ‘Girl in Tech’ Initiative: Eligible female candidates may receive an additional scholarship benefit of up to 5%, subject to applicable criteria.
  • Need-Based Support: Available for eligible students from families with an annual income of ₹6 lakhs or below, subject to verification and criteria.

Scholarships are awarded based on defined merit and eligibility criteria, and among eligible candidates, allocation may be on a first-come-first-served basis until exhaustion. Each scholarship category is assessed independently based on its respective criteria, and scholarships may not be cumulative. Eligible candidates may receive scholarships of up to 100%, subject to applicable criteria and availability. Female candidates may be eligible for an additional scholarship benefit of up to 5% under the “Girl in Tech” initiative, within the overall cap of 100%.

Commenting on the announcement, Vishwa Mohan, Founder & CEO upGrad School of Tech, “The future of engineering education lies in relevance and adaptability.
