Nova IVF Fertility expands its presence to Vishakapatnam

Fertility Experts witness a prevalence of 11.3% of women with PCOD led infertility in women and 34% of men with poor sperm count

One of India’s largest fertility chains, Nova IVF Fertility, expands its presence to Visakhapatnam. The fertility chain was inaugurated by Dr Divya Sahitya Nambala, Fertility Specialist at Nova IVF Fertility along with the Chief Guest, Dr R. Sasiprabha, a stalwart in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, who also served as Professor Emeritus of NTRUHS and Senate member of Andhra University. The Guest of Honour was Dr Y. L. Narsinga Rao, President, Obstetrics and Gynecological society of Visakhapatnam.

Infertility rates may be on the rise in Visakhapatnam, with a growing number of couples maybe facing difficulties in conceiving due to lifestyle changes, hormone imbalances, and exposure to environmental toxins. Exposure to industrial pollutants, may affect sperm quality, and may be one of the contributing factors  to male infertility.

Dr Divya Sahitya Nambala, Fertility Specialist at Nova IVF Fertility, Visakhapatnam, highlights what could be the primary causes of infertility in the region,  Oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OATS) in men and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women. “We frequently see patients affected by PCOS and OATS, both of which can significantly reduce the chances of natural conception. PCOS, a hormonal disorder, affects an estimated 4 out of 10 women who seek fertility treatment at our center  while OATS, a condition that impairs sperm quality and motility, impacts 1 out of 10 men. Unhealthy dietary habits, stress, sedentary lifestyles, smoking, and alcohol consumption can further increase the risk of infertility, in both men and women. In addition, delayed parenthood may have emerged as a key factor affecting fertility. Many couples are choosing to prioritize their careers and personal aspirations, only to find that they are having trouble getting pregnant later in life” Importance of Fertility Testing.
There is a need for fertility evaluations for married couples. “Incorporating fertility tests like the Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) test and semen analysis into regular health check-ups can help couples understand their fertility potential early on, Dr Divya Nambala advises. For couples who have been trying to conceive for over a year (or six months if the woman is over 35), seeking early intervention from a fertility specialist is crucial. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve the chances of a healthy pregnancy”.
