Cumberland University Launches New Graduate Programs; Invites Hyderabad students

Cumberland University, a distinguished institution with over 180 years of history, is gaining significant global attention, particularly among students from India. At a recent press conference held at the Aditya Park Hotel in Hyderabad, Cumberland University announced its active recruitment efforts in Hyderabad and Central India, highlighting the growing appeal of its graduate programs to students worldwide, including hundreds from India.

Located in the dynamic metropolitan area of Nashville, Tennessee, Cumberland University has introduced a Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) and a Master of Science in IT Management (MSITM), among other advanced degree offerings. The institution’s rapid expansion in graduate programs has positioned it as one of the fastest-growing universities in the South and Tennessee.

“We are proud of our recent growth in both graduate and international students,” said Dr. Mark Hanshaw, Associate Provost. “With our addition of new graduate programs, we are able to serve the needs of a growing population of students, including many from India. The presence of global students enriches the educational experience we offer.”

Cumberland University welcomed its first cohort of students in the MSEM program during the fall term of 2023. The university’s international service partner, UniversityHUB, based in Hyderabad, plays a crucial role in recruitment efforts, especially in the fields of Information Technology and Engineering Management.

“Nashville is one of the most rapidly growing business and technology centers in the United States,” added Hanshaw. “We are pleased to help our students learn more about this emerging economic hub as part of their educational experience.”

Both the MSITM and MSEM programs at Cumberland University employ a hybrid model, combining online classes with specific in-person residencies each term. This flexible format is designed to meet growing student demand and allows students to work in related industry positions through the Curricular Practical Training program. The master’s programs are structured to be completed in approximately five semesters, with three semesters offered per year and entry points available in any semester.

In collaboration with UniversityHUB, Cumberland University is excited to announce multiple “Spot Admissions” events in India. These events provide prospective students the chance to secure scholarships of up to $7,000 for the MSITM and MSEM programs. Students and their families are encouraged to attend to learn more about these programs and interact directly with Cumberland University’s admissions representatives and leadership. Attendees should bring necessary documents for on-the-spot admissions for the Fall intake (August 2024).

The first Spot Admissions event will be held on June 18 in Hyderabad.
